Designs on our Environment?

Establishing multi-disciplinary working for the public realm

Public Art Forum and Public Art South West joined forces to present a one day conference that explored the question: How do we support and implement a multi-disciplinary approach to designing and delivering initiatives in the public realm?

The event brought together speakers to discuss political and practice based issues that impact on how we design our environments.

Speakers and topics included:

  • Philip Singleton - Design Adviser, Birmingham City Council

    Local government, planning and quality

  • Nayan Kulkarni - Artist

    Working in the public realm in collaborative multi-disciplinary contexts

  • Maggie Bolt - Director, Public Art South West

  • Dominic Murphy - Development Manager, South West Regional Development Agency

    PASW's current initiatives, and Creating Excellence - the South West Regeneration Centre and its aims
