Aligned to the Walthamstow Shop Front Improvements scheme, the STREET GALLERY project will commission a rolling programme of innovative, temporary, site-specific artworks for the façade and/or rooftop of the 99p Store on Cleveland Park Avenue, Walthamstow E17.
London Borough of Waltham Forest is seeking proposals from established artists/designers with a proven track record of producing works for the public realm.
The aim of the project is to enhance the character of the street while exploring ideas about one or more of the key themes ofreciprocity, exchange, generosity and value.
The first artwork will be installed in December 2012, with 3 subsequent artworks installed at intervals until March 2014.
Total value of each commission is £5,000 + VAT.
The deadline for submissions is 10am on Monday 8 October 2012.
