Artist Commission: The Grotto, Royal Terrace Gardens, Torquay.

Deadline: July 16, 2009, 5:00 pm

As part of the renovations of the Royal Terrace Gardens in Torquay, Torbay Council are looking for an artist to produce work for an existing historic grotto found within the lower wall of the gardens. The grotto is currently empty and it will be the role of the artist, through research and dialogue with the design team, to produce work that will create a moment of delight and surprise for visitors to the gardens.

We are looking for artists to submit a CV, artist statement and visual examples of working practice to Sophie Scott at Ginkgo Projects by Thursday 16th July. Please submit hard copies of applications by post.

Interviews for short listed artists will be held on Wednesday 22nd July. At interview artists will be expected to give a short presentation on their practice and outline their response to the brief. Artists will not be expected to have prepared project proposals at this stage. You will be notified of whether you have been selected for interview by 5pm Friday 17th July.
