Artist Opportunity – Llanelli, Eastern Quarter, Sculpture Commissions

Deadline: July 20, 2012

Artist Opportunity - Llanelli, Eastern Quarter Sculpture Commission

Henry Davidson Developments Ltd and EMP Projects are pleased to announce an opportunity for an artist to create a permanent sculpture in heart of Llanelli’s Eastern Quarter.  The location of the sculpture is adjacent to Y Ffwrnes. This state-of-the-art theatre is the first of its kind in West Wales for over a quarter of a century and is a cultural and creative centre for entertainment, the arts, education and employment. Y Ffwrnes is due for completion in December 2012.

This is a prestigious commission for a permanent freestanding sculpture within an ambitious regeneration programme in Llanelli. We are looking to commission an exceptional artist to design and produce a permanent freestanding sculpture, which is interesting, site-responsive and is reflective of Llanelli’s rich industrial heritage. We particularly encourage applications from artists with a track record in implementing sculpture in the public realm.

The overall budget for this project is £66,500.00
