Ballyjamesduff Public Art Commission

Deadline: October 24, 2014, 3:00 pm

Ballyjamesduff Community Creche are calling for expressions of interest for a new public artwork. The project will be based on close community engagement and involvement, during the design and production of the final piece of artwork. It is essential that the artwork would mean something to the local residents, instilling a sense of pride in the area. The piece of public art should reflect Ballyjamesduff coach town history, and its development of a community rich in diversity and integration.

To date, a Facilitating Artist has been employed, to engage with the local community and prepare a report, which has resulted in the Artist’s Brief.

A maximum of 3 artists/design teams will be shortlisted and invited to work up detailed design proposals, for presentation to the selection panel (a fee of £500 is available for this). Shortlisted artists/design teams will be notified week commencing 3rd November. Design proposals, including models, if supplied, will be presented, by artists, in person, to the Steering Group on Thursday 4th December. The successful artist(s) / design team will be notified during the following week.
