Bellway Homes Banbury Commission

Working with Cherwell District Council Arts Development team, Bellway Homes wish to create a series of artworks for a new housing development in Southam Road, Banbury, Oxfordshire in an area of archaeological sensitivity.
Currently under construction, the site will be enhanced by new bespoke public artwork, which is intended to encourage the residents and public to appreciate the landscape and reference the medieval ruins which lie beneath the ground.
Commission: £80K
Deadline for submission: 1st September 2016
Deadline for installation: May 2017
The commissioners seek a skilled and experienced public artist, who has previously worked in stone or wood to consider an approach to the site that either incorporates seating or a viewing platform to gain a vantage point across the development
