Creative approach towards Phase four of the Lyme Regis Environmental Improvement Scheme

Deadline: July 23, 2012

West Dorset District Council (WDDC) in partnership with Dorset County Council (DCC) is seeking to integrate and embed creative approaches within the new sea defence and environmental improvement scheme for Church Cliff and East Cliff in Lyme Regis. Applications are invited from artists who have experience of working within multidisciplinary teams on large scale projects. The artist will be required to engage with the scheme as a whole and work closely with the project team to identify areas for artistic intervention. The appointed artist will also be expected to take into account the extensive consultation undertaken to date, the potential users and visitors of the space and how it will be viewed and used; thus developing a sense of place in order to enhance the immediate environment.

The commission will be divided into three stages; each one subject to approval prior to commencement of the next stage.  The total amount available for design fees and related expenses for all three stages is £25k. The Artist’s proposals are to be integrated into the main capital programme.

The deadline is 23rd July 2012.
