Merthyr Tydfil Bus Station Commission

Deadline: December 15, 2014, 9:00 am

The Physical Regeneration Team of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council seeks expressions of interest from artists wishing to work as part of the design team for the new central bus station in Merthyr Tydfil Town Centre.

This opportunity will allow the chosen artist to make a contribution to the design of an important part of the town’s transport infrastructure and a critical building within the townscape.  The appointed artist will be expected to bring a new perspective to the design team crossing traditional skills boundaries and linking different design disciplines.

With a fee of £8,000, the appointed artist will be encouraged to think laterally about how the bus station will function, how it connects to the rest of the town centre and how users of the facility will interact with it.  As part of the commission, the appointed artist will support the presentation of the project to the Design Commission for Wales.

The brief and supporting documents are available on request from [email protected]

All enquires should be sent by email, no enquiries by telephone.

Deadline for applications are 5pm 15th December 2014.

Interviews will take place on 22nd December 2014 at Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council. Candidates will be informed by 17th December 2014 if they are shortlisted for interview.
