Mourne Public Art Progrmme: Public Art Commission

The Mourne Heritage Trust wish to invite expressions of interest from outstanding artists/design teams to design, arrange the production, delivery and installation of 3 pieces of public artwork throughout the Mourne Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Co Down, at 1) Bloody Bridge, Newcastle; 2) Castlewellan; and 3) Banbridge.

The project seeks to enhance the visitor experience by introducing high quality, visually appealing, strong and site specific pieces of public art which reflect the unique assets and enhance the interpretation/public realm of the area. The artwork will be created in consultation with a Steering Group and by engaging the local community in a participatory creative experience. The project(s) must be completed by 31st March 2014.

The budget for the project is £15277 exclusive of VAT per site.

Artists/design teams wishing to participate must initially submit an Expression of Interest application. Please note: Artists/design teams can apply for either 1, 2 or for all 3 sites.

Stage 1 applications must be received before 4pm on Friday 25th October 2013. Late submissions will not be accepted.

The selection panel intends to select up to 6 artists for the final tender stage who will be invited to develop proposals on the basis of information provided.
