North Tyneside Council: Howdon Library Public Artwork Commission

Deadline: July 18, 2011

Howdon Library Public Artwork Commission - £45,000.

Expressions of interest are invited from creative practitioners with the relevant skills and experience to implement the design and installation of two distinct pieces of artwork:

  1. Entrance feature adjacent to the front door of the library;
  2. Decorative feature for the rear community courtyard.

Project delivery will comprise of 2 phases:

  • Community consultation and engagement to generate design proposals;
  • Fabrication and installation of the selected and approved designs.

The two artworks will not be considered as separate projects as they will be developed from a single consultation process. All applications will be required to demonstrate an ability to consider and deliver both artwork elements of the brief. Applications from groups of artists or artists working in partnership in varying or complimentary media will be considered provided that they have a proven working relationship and will not over-resource the consultation process.

The budget for this project, to include both artwork features, is £45,000.
