Blackpool Council are looking for expressions of interest from three artists, designers or creative enterprises who would like to be considered for our exciting new Project Object.
Project Object is seeking three artists who will engage with Blackpool's historic collections and built heritage to inspire a range of retail products. They will then undertake four weekly design sessions each with the community and then develop their work into saleable products.
Community engagement is a vital aspect of this project and the successful applicants will receive support from the Arts Engagement Manager with accessing local communities. Blackpool Council envisage members of the community becoming 'project apprentices', where they will shadow you as you work, explore the historic collections with you, learn from your techniques and have opportunities to develop their own product designs.
