Public Art Commission – London Borough of Richmond upon Thames

Deadline: October 31, 2014, 5:00 pm

Artists are invited to apply for a commission to create a new piece of public art for an installation ‘The Frame’ on Twickenham Riverside, in the Diamond Jubilee Gardens, Richmond upon Thames.

Richmond upon Thames Arts Service are looking for an artist to celebrate the local community and local heritage, working with the community to design, manufacture and install a piece of artwork for
this existing site. The work should be centred on the theme of First World War and Richmond’s local home-front.

Participation will be a key element to this commission, so the commissioners are seeking someone with experience of engaging a wide range of community groups, schools, or young people.

The total value of this commission is £5,000 and this is a finite sum to cover all associated costs including design, expenses, materials, manufacture, installation and delivery of participatory community workshops.

Those wishing to apply are asked to submit a CV and covering letter, including examples of past work that are relevant to this project, including evidence of skills and experience in delivering both public art commissions and participatory workshops.

Applications must be submitted to: Carla Bromhead, Arts Events Assistant, Orleans House Gallery, Riverside TW1 3DJ or [email protected]
