Public art commission, Tangley Park Children's Centre

Deadline: February 13, 2012, 5:00 pm

Public art commission Tangley Park Children's Centre
(Richmond), London Borough of Richmond upon Thames

Artists are invited to bid for a commission to create a permanent public art installation at the newly refurbished Tangley Park Family Centre in Hampton, Richmond upon Thames.

We are looking for an artist to work with the local community to design, manufacture and install an external public artwork that will create a distinctive identity for the Family Centre and consider its relationship to other buildings on the site.

Participation will be a key element to this commission, so we are looking for someone with experience of engaging a wide range of community groups, particularly local families with young children who are the primary users of the Centre.

The total value of this commission is £25,000 and this is a finite sum to cover all associated costs including design, expenses, materials, manufacture, installation and delivery of participatory community workshops.

Please email [email protected] to request a more detailed brief.

If you wish to apply please submit a CV and covering letter. Please include examples of your work that are relevant to this project and evidence of your skills and experience in delivering both public art commissions and participatory community workshops. You may also wish to include initial ideas for theTangley Park commission but please note that we do not expect you to submit a full proposal at this stage.
Applications must be submitted to: Emma Rehm, Arts EducationManager, Orleans House Gallery, RiversideTW1 3DJ or [email protected]

The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Monday 13 February 2012.
