Wysing Open Call

Deadline: December 20, 2014, 12:00 pm

Wysing Arts Centre has announced an open call for its 2015 artist in residence programme. The over-arching theme of its artistic programme next year will be The Multiverse, an unverified theory within physics that proposes the potential for a set of multiple universes which together comprise everything that exists.

Aspects of the Multiverse that we will be explored include theories in which all possible worlds exist, where the same object can appear in multiple worlds, and where fictional characters can exist as ‘entities’ within know realities.

Across 2015, The Multiverse will act as the starting point for a series of experimental research-based residencies, artistic retreats, an artist masterclass and summer school, exhibitions, events and an experimental music festival.

Applications are sought from artists wishing to be resident at Wysling's rural Cambridgeshire centre; to respond to the theme of The Multiverse and to make new work in response.

There are two residency periods:
23rd of March to the 10th of May 2015
9th of November to the 20th of December 2015

The fee and production budget for residencies is £4,000 and the deadline for applications is 12noon on Monday the 22nd of December 2014.
