Folkestone Artworks Takeover Tours Call Out

Date uploaded: March 13, 2015

Folkestone Artworks will be re-launching in May with the addition of 9 more permanent artworks from Folkestone Triennial 2014. The Creative Foundation invite artists and thinkers of all ages and abilities to submit their ideas for an alternative tour of these 25 public sculptures across the town.

The tour could respond to between 1 and 25 artworks across Folkestone and should aim to look at the collection from another perspective. The organisation are looking for creative, fun and accessible events that reinterpret the conventions of what a tour can be. Suggestions are welcomed from a wide range of interests across all media, including (but not exclusively in) performance, poetry, themed events, comedy, music, audio, still life, and any other unexpected ways and means.

To enter your ideas, send a synopsis of your idea for a tour (200 word  max) and something about yourself and why you would like to run a tour (200 word maximum). Feel free to send links to websites, your CV, videos alongside this information to: [email protected]

Deadline: Friday 27 March at 5pm.

Four to six proposals will be selected as part of the Folkestone 2015 summer programme. Each tour will happen on a weekend (unless related to a specific date).

There is the possibility to apply for a travel bursary and to cover basic costs of delivering the tour.
