Car Deconstruction - Dina Rončević

Date uploaded: September 16, 2014

In advance of her forthcoming project, ‘Car Deconstruction’, presented with Eastside Projects and Fierce Festival, Croatian artist and mechanic, Dina Rončević, will discuss the themes of her practice in an artist's talk, which will take place on Tuesday the 30th of September from 6.30pm to 8pm at Eastside Projects, Birmingham. These centre around gendered spaces, politics of knowledge and narratives regarding women, femininity and technology.

'Car Deconstruction’ involves seven Birmingham girls aged 10 to 13 years old disassembling a car to its nuts and bolts under the guidance of Dina Rončević.

“My idea was to separate all the parts, so the girls could see how the car is constructed, to learn how to use the tools and to work intensively with their bodies.” Dina Rončević
