Connections North Seminar: Residencies and other opportunities for Visual Artists
Friday 22nd March 2013
Harrogate Studio Theatre, Oxford St, Harrogate

Would you like to try working and responding to a different environment, making new contacts, exploring creative collaborations and benefiting from access to high quality facilities and equipment?  Would you like to gain new skills and confidence by working in a different country?

Chrysalis Arts is planning the further development of its Connections North project which has so far involved developing and supporting residencies by North Yorkshire artists with arts organisations in Finland, Ireland and Sweden.

This event will include speakers from Finland, Sweden, Scotland and Arts Council England and include information about:

  • Arts Council England’s Artists’ International Development Fund, which supports international visits outside the UK by artists working in any artform and runs until 2015.
  • Case studies and information about a variety of artists’ residency opportunities in Finland, Sweden and the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
  • Feedback and information from North Yorkshire artists who have taken part in international residencies.
  • Information about plans for a future collaborative printmaking project involving artists from these areas.

Fee: £15 includes coffee and a buffet lunch with plenty of time for networking.
