Foreground Projects
Part of the Art in the City Lecture Series, every Wednesday at 6.00pm
In 2008, Foreground presented Intervention/Decoration, a major project in the market town of Frome, Somerset, that used the whole town as a site to explore how artists use decoration and intervention to challenge our expectations and inspire our visions of what is possible in public spaces.
Foreground's curators will talk about how Intervention/Decoration both drew inspiration from and challenged its setting, their forthcoming project Independent State and the politics and practicalities of commissioning art in smaller communities.
