The Floating Cinema Launch Event

outside the Lea Rowing Club, Spring Hill, London E5 9BL

 

Enjoy specially-selected short films aboard this uniquely customised narrow boat, and as night falls, lounge on the canal side to immerse yourself in our large-scale outdoor projections accompanied by live music & DJs.

Bring a picnic or enjoy food and drink from the Sandwich Barge and the Riverside Cafe. Children welcome.

PORTAVILION 2011: THE FLOATING CINEMA 1 July – 17 September

The Floating Cinema has been created by Hackney-based team of architects Studio Weave and artist duo Somewhere (Nina Pope and Karen Guthrie) to host a varied and vibrant programme of on-board screenings, quirky canal tours, talks and workshops. The Floating Cinema is the latest addition to UP Project’s Portavilion programme. It is commissioned by The Olympic Delivery Authority as part of their Arts and Cultural Strategy, funded by Arts Council England and will form part of the CREATE11 summer festival.
