Transforma Lab, Torres Vedras

Transforma Lab is an artistic project built on a curatorial approach involving a new event that will contribute towards the regeneration of the Torres Vedras’ historical centre. Based on the recreation of memories and meanings, and the analysis of the singularity of the connections and nature of the sites, the developing stages of the project will research, experiment, and promote new forms of rethinking the city. Its aim is also to stimulate the development of creative work that undertakes practices and forms that establish connections with the public space, urban landscape and the social fabric of the city.
This project is part of the IMAGINE2020, Art and Climate Change Network, an European project that supports artistic work researching the causes and effects of climate change while promoting promotes sustainable development, with the ultimate goal of changing the cultural sector and society at large.
Transforma Lab is also done in collaboration with the Oporto Faculty of Fine Arts Master Art & Design for the Public Space study programme, in an attempt to promote new developments achieved through their “Transformations” project.
The project will be presented in Torres Vedras between 17th and 22nd October 2011.
