Art for Public Places (Northern Ireland)

Deadline: January 12, 2012, 4:00 pm

Art for Public Places (Northern Ireland)
The Arts Council of Northern Ireland has announced that its Public Arts programme is currently open for applications.  Through the Public Art Programme grants of up to £100,000 are available to support the commissioning of new art for public places.  The Public Art Programme is open for applications for:

  • Permanent single works
  • Multiple linked works (e.g. a sculpture trail)
  • Integrated art projects.

Time-limited (or temporary) projects, although not ruled out, will not be prioritised under this programme; however, applications for such projects would be welcomed through the Small Grants programme.  Priority will be given to innovative, original work by Northern Ireland artists; and, projects which engage with the local community in which new work will be sited.   Applicants do not have to be primarily an arts organisation and applications are welcomed from local authorities, registered charities and other not for profit organisations as well as commercial organisations as long as their project is primarily for the benefit of the public rather than their own commercial interests.
The closing date for applications is 4pm on the 12th January 2012.
