Artist-in-residence opportunity at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales

Deadline: July 12, 2012

Cyfle Preswyl yng Nghanolfan y Dechnoleg Amcen mewn partneriaeth gyda Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru / Artist-in-residence opportunity at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, Powys in partnership with the Arts Council of Wales

Bursary: £24,000 for twelve months
Starting August 2012

This residency is part of a new strategic partnership between the Arts Council of Wales & the Centre for Alternative Technology.

CAT is inviting applications from, both UK and international artists working in film, photography or digital media, who wish to develop their practice through working at CAT for a period of twelve months by engaging with its research projects and its community of staff.

Hosted by CAT and funded by the Arts Council of Wales, the residency offers the opportunity to access time and space away from their usual practice to work in the context of a cutting edge research project. The residency will provide a time to absorb the cultural implications of CAT’s Zero Carbon Britain (ZCB) work, both through the findings of work to date and in joining the team of researchers during the current phase of their investigation; providing an opportunity to meet new people, sourcing new material and experiencing life in a new location. The residency will also allow the artist(s) to interpret, explore and engage with the wider learning context offered through CAT’s ‘living laboratory’ of hands-on projects.

Deadline for applications: 12th July 2012
Interviews scheduled for 23rd July 2012
