Future Meetings
The next Network meeting will take place at the London Hotel in Teignmouth on Thursday 6th April 2000. The meeting is being planned in collaboration with the Devon Public Art Consortium and Teignbridge District Council. The meeting will look at the issue of quality, discussing how within a local authority context it is possible to raise issues of quality, get a debate started and move issues on. Speakers will include Doff Pollard, Arts Development Officer, Teignbridge District Council and Andrew Stacey, Public Art Consultant and Advisor to the Public Art Consortium and Simon Grennan, Director of Public Art Forum. The day will be chaired by arts consultant, Lee Corner. After the meeting, Teignbridge District Council are inviting all delegates to stay for a buffet reception, to view recent public art works in Teignmouth including Ray Smith's 'Making Waves' and to hear a brief presentation by the artist, Ray Smith.
Plans are being discussed to hold the Autumn Network meeting in Bude, focusing on the Bude Light project and other initiatives in Cornwall. More information in the next issue of the Newsletter.
