Project description
A distinction of the housing market renewal programme in Burnley is the aim to involve young people and promote an arts project that could provide that distinctive, inspirational angle to attract young people into the consultation process - a key objective of the Elevate East Lancashire programme.

A PROJECT Steering Group will comprise representatives of Burnley Borough Council's Policy and Environment Team in Planning and Environment Services, the Strategic Arts Development Officer, Lancashire County Council's Youth and Community Service, Burnley 's Elevate Team and young people from the Elevate area.

A Creative Homes Award, a category currently under-subscribed in PROJECT, is awarded to acknowledge the favourable timeframe, professional support built in to advise artist selection and support, the working relationship between the artist and Burnley Borough Council's Urban Designer - devising schemes, concepts and ideas to influence private developers and a focus of work especially with young people.
