RMC Quarry restoration: Re-think the tip - quarry landscaping into art

Explanation statement by RMC:

Unfortunately, despite attempts to sell the merits of an artistically orientated approach, the idea is still resisted by the Planning Authorities involved. In particular, regarding the proposed tip at Halkyn Quarry, Flintshire CC's planners are against any design that would attract attention rather than seamlessly blending with the landscape.

So, despite our good intentions to raise the innovation of tip design, it looks like we will have to move away from this idea as it is clearly against our business interests to pursue something that is resisted by Planning Authorities.

James Holyoak, RMC 21.12.2004
