Comedia appointed to carry out evaluation for PROJECT

We are delighted to announce that Comedia has been appointed to carry out independent evaluation into the practical ways in which artists contribute to public realm projects, and the impact of their input on projects both at the design stage and on the ongoing practice of design team members.

Comedia is a research and development agency advising decision-makers at all levels. It has been working for over 20 years at the point in current debate where economics, culture, creativity and sense of place converge and interact. It engages at the forefront of thinking and debate, facilitating innovative thinking, acting as a catalyst for change and generating new ideas about urban policy and culture. Its flexible multidisciplinary team for the PROJECT evaluation is led Fred Brookes and includes Charles Landry and Franco Bianchini.

We expect that an interim report will be available to coincide with a seminar about PROJECT in May 2005 and that the final report will be published in March 2006. Further updates will be published here as the work progresses.
