Project description
Significant support and advice from CABE, MADE and Arts Council England,
West Midlands is acknowledged by the Town Coordinator of Wellington
Town Partnership to advise the role of artists in the regeneration of
Wellington town centre, made possible by an award of half a million
pounds from Advantage West Midlands. This structure of support by arts
and design agencies aims to lift expectation and respective thresholds
to achieve high quality design and broaden and integrate the opportunities
for artists within the scheme. The PROJECT award will
enable the appointment of an artist consultant David Patten who defines
his approach as sitting ėsomewhere between town planning, policy development
and public art' to work in collaboration with other design professionals.
