Louise O'Reilly at Borde Hill Garden
Date uploaded: November 6, 2013
Louise O'Reilly was artist in residence at Borde Hill Garden in West Sussex during August and September and asked to create work in response to the archive of letters between the garden's owner, Colonel Stephenson Clark, and the plant hunters he sponsored to collect new species in China and SE Asia in the early 20th Century.
This resulted in a pair of small picture books about two rare species in the garden, a temporary installation in the citrus house and a drawing workshop for children held on Saturday 2nd November.
The project was commissioned by Arts Consultants Frances Lord and Belinda Holden (B&F) on behalf of Borde Hill Garden as part of the development of a cultural strategy for the garden and was funded by Arts Council England.
