Call for Interest: Public Art Commission for St.Laurence’s National School under the Per Cent For Art Scheme

Fund: €30,000
The Board of Management of St.Laurence’s primary school, under the Department of Education & Science Per Cent for Art Scheme wish to commission site specific public artwork/s of a permanent nature for its new school buildings and environs. The school wishes the artist to have meaningful engagement with the school children throughout this commission. The total fund awarded is €30,000 to include all fees, costs, transport and installation. This commission will be awarded by a two-stage selection process. At this first stage, the school is inviting expressions of interest from professional artists for this site specific artwork. At the second stage, artists will be shortlisted and invited to submit a detailed concept proposal. It is estimated that the project will commence in March 2012.
