Commission for artist on a design team, Bangor

A review of Bangor city centre's public realm (publicly owned streets, footpaths, green spaces and other publicly accessible open spaces) commissioned by Gwynedd Council and undertaken by Taylor Young design consultancy has resulted in a strategy and plan for future improvements.
Gwynedd Council has instructed Safle to commission an artist to take forward these initial concepts and, working closely with Taylor Young and the wider community, to develop costed designs for bespoke artwork for inclusion in the scheme. In addition the artist will also look at including artwork along the Lon Adda Cycleway. Again working with local partners, particularly Balchder Bangor, the Countryside Council for Wales, Bangor University, the Youth Service, Coleg Menai and local primary and secondary schools.
Artist's design fees for this first stage are £5,000
