Dundalk Public Art Commission

Deadline: December 5, 2014, 5:00 pm

Dundalk Institute of Technology has been successful in its application to take part in the Building Peace through the Arts Programme. It is now calling for expressions of interest for a new public artwork, from experienced and suitably qualified artist(s), or design team.  The total budget available for the artwork is €38,000 (including VAT).

The projects Steering Group invite Expression of Interest applications from artists/design teams, from which a suitably selected and qualified panel (Project Steering Group) can shortlist artists to work up detailed design proposals. To date, a Facilitating Artist has been employed, to engage with the local community and prepare a report, which has resulted in the Artist’s Brief.

The project will be based on close community engagement and involvement, during the design and production of the final piece of artwork. It is essential that the artwork would mean something to the college community. The piece of public art should reflect DKIT’s identity and role in the community. The selected artwork will become identifiable with DKIT and its unique position as a place of learning, knowledge and multi-cultural/national interaction.

The deadline for receipt of Expressions Of Interest will be 5pm on Friday 5th December 2014 and the full brief can be downloaded below.
