Expressions of interest sought for public art commission at entertainment venue, Guildford

Deadline: January 15, 2010, 4:00 pm

Guildford Borough Council is seeking expressions of interest from artists, designers and teams for the development of a public art scheme for a new premier entertainment venue in the Town Centre.  The new venue, which is to replace the old Civic Hall, will include a 1,000 seated auditorium, versatile studio space, two function rooms and five seminar rooms and will be a striking, contemporary building.

The public art should enhance the landscaping and building and celebrate the new venue as a focal point for culture in Guildford.

The fixed fee for the commission is £28,000 which must cover all fees, materials, fabrication and installation costs.

Expressions of interest should be sent with a CV and up to 5 jpeg images of previous work by: 4.30pm on Friday 15 January 2010 to Nadine Ishani, Arts Officer, Guildford Borough Council, Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4BB or to [email protected].  Please send an SAE for images to be returned by post.  If you are submitting via email, please ensure jpeg images are less than 500kb each or provide web links.
