Goole Victorian Market: Call for Site-Specific Submissions

Deadline: January 6, 2012, 5:00 pm

Call for Site-Specific Submissions – Goole Victorian Market

Question your Teaspoons have secured funding from Arts Council England and Goole Town Council for a series of site-based arts events, taking place in the Victorian Market Hall in Goole, East Yorkshire. The company has already presented the first event in the series, Mulled Wine + Snowflakes, in November 2011. You can see images and details of the work shown in November by clicking here.

The next event is scheduled for Saturday 18th February 2012, and we are now seeking to commission a number of artists to create work in response to the market. The event will feature commissioned work across a range of media, and will transform the market through playful, participatory and innovative site-based art. Artists shall take inspiration from the site itself, as well as the traditional position of market places, as social and communal spaces for towns; celebrating the potential for all of the wonderful things that could happen in the building.

All proposals must be received by 5pm on Friday 6th January 2012.

If you have problems accessing the brief, or if you have any questions about the project or the submission process, please contact: [email protected]

This project is made possible with the support of the National Lottery through Arts Council England, alongside Goole Town Council, Junction and The Lowther Hotel.
