Hornsea Pottery Project

Deadline: February 2, 2015, 12:00 pm

East Riding of Yorkshire Council, working with the Hornsea Area Renaissance Partnership (HARP) wish to commission a Creative Professional to engage with the community to develop Phase one of an exciting new project to produce a project brief which will define the parameters of a celebration of the iconic designs of Hornsea Pottery.

It is hoped that this project will enhance the appeal and raise the profile of Hornsea by maximising on the heritage of the widely renowned Hornsea Pottery. The project will increase footfall in the town centre and Museum, provide an enjoyable experience to visitors and residents, link up the fragmented areas of the town centre and encourage people enjoying the Promenade and seaside to visit the High Street.

Hornsea Pottery’s wide appeal and unique selling point is not visually celebrated in the town apart from the displays in the museum and in the Cottage Hospital.  This project should capitalise on this gap and re-ignite people’s interest in visiting Hornsea.

On completion of Phase One additional funding will be sought for Phase Two to deliver the project brief, using an appropriate public art professional to develop and install a trail.

The budget for this work (Phase one) is a maximum of £6300 (exclusive of VAT) including costs associated with consultancy events.
