Imaging Benburb’ - Building Peace through the Arts - Public Art Commission

RBSG (Re-Imaging Benburb Steering Group) is calling for expressions of interest for a new public artwork, from experienced and suitably qualified artists or design team. The total budget available for this Building Peace through the Arts Programme – Re-Imaging Communities is £47,000 (including VAT).

This project is part-financed by the European Union’s Programme for Peace and Reconciliation (PEACE III) managed by the Special EU Programmes Body; the Arts Council of Northern Ireland; and the International Fund for Ireland.

RBSG Steering Group invite Expression of Interest applications, from which a suitably selected and qualified panel (RBSG) can shortlist artists to work up detailed design proposals. In the first phase of the project, artist Susan Connolly was employed to carry out creative peace-building engagement with the local community and to prepare a report of the findings.  This has informed the Artist’s Brief - which can be downloaded below.

The deadline for receipt of Expressions of Interest and outline concepts will be strictly 4.00pm, Friday 25th July 2014. Late submissions will not be accepted.
