InTRANSIT Festival of Arts 2015 - Artist Call Out
Deadline: March 4, 2015, 12:00 pm
InTRANSIT Festival of Arts is an annual festival of site responsive art and performance from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Now in its ninth year, the festival celebrates the changing urban landscape, making use of public and private spaces throughout the borough. Production and design team O'Neil/Ross will return to curate this year's festival and work with selected participants in their search for appropriate space.
The festival has now announced an open call for artists and companies from any discipline, who are passionate about working outside of conventional theatre and gallery settings. The festival programmers are looking to commission outstanding new site responsive or outdoor projects, that will be presented in Kensington and Chelsea in June this year. With the support of a Grant for the Arts award from Arts Council England.
The theme for this year's festival is Paradise on Earth, and proposals are sought that explore the interplay between 'paradise' and that which is more familiar here on earth. There is between £1,000 to £5,000 grant funding available to invest in an individual commission.
InTRANSIT Festival of Arts 2015 runs from the 19th to the 28th of June, taking place a month earlier than usual to allow for more involvement with schools, young people and higher education institutions.
Expressions of interest and queries can be sent to [email protected] - including links to any relevant work and an outline of additional funding sources you might be able to draw on.
The deadline for submissions is 12noon on Wednesday the 4th of March 2015. Expressions of interest will be shortlisted by the 11th of March. Shortlisted artists will then be given three weeks to further develop their idea before the final selection on Wednesday the 1st of April.
