Killesher Public Art Commission
Deadline: December 5, 2014
Killesher Community Development Association (KCDA) has been successful in its application to take part in the Building Peace through the Arts – Re-Imaging Communities Programme. They are now calling for expressions of interest for a new public artwork, from experienced and suitably qualified artist(s), or design team(s). The total budget available for the artwork is £30,000 (excluding VAT).
The Project’s Steering Group invites Expression of Interest applications from artists/design teams, from which the selection panel will shortlist artists to work up detailed design proposals. To date, an Artist Facilitator has been employed to complete Stage 1 of the project: engage with the local community and prepare a report, which has resulted in the Artist’s Brief for Stage 2 of the project.
The project will be based on close community engagement and involvement, during the design and production of the final piece of artwork. It is essential that the artwork will mean something to the local residents, instilling a sense of pride in the area. The piece of public art should reflect the desire to improve relations between the two main traditions within our community.
The deadline for receipt of Expressions of Interest will be Friday 5th December 2014 and the full artists brief can be downloaded below.
