Luminale 2010 - call for projects
Deadline: October 24, 2009
The count down to the Luminale 2010 has begun!
The Luminale has founded a tradition of its own as an international festival of light culture, inspired by the oldest light festival of all, Lyon's 150-year old Fete des lumieres. The luminale is a platform upon which architects, designers, town planners and artists can exhibit their latest works before the general public within the context of a festival.
The concept of the festival was developed 9 years ago and realized 7 years ago in 2002. By 2006, in its third edition, the festival comprised 180 projects and around 160 events in museums, galleries, on the facades of buildings, in warehouses and churches, on the streets, city squares, parks, river banks and bridges. These figures increased to 227 projects and about 180 events in 2008.
How to participate in the Luminale? The ground rules are:
- lighting manufacturers, planners and designers, artists and institutes of culture can register their Luminale projects with the project office Luminale
- The closing date for registration is 24th October 2009
- The project must coincide with the Light+Building trade fair, which runs from the 11th - 16th April 2010; it must be accessible to the public and make some contribution to lighting culture
- No right to insist upon the inclusion of a project in the Luminale programme exists
- Fill in the registration form. We take up contact with you and dicuss it. Maybe we can help with the mediation of rooms or sponsorships. Therefore we need a contact paper of the idea
