Marie Curie Cancer Care West Midlands Hospice: Call for Submissions
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides specialist support and care for cancer patients and their families, aimnig to give patients the best possible quality of life, meeting all of their medical, spiritual and social needs, whilst providing their families with the emotional support they may need.
The West Midlands Hospice will be a wonderful, purpose built hospice, situated close to Solihull Town Centre and caring for people in the surrounding areas.
An integrated Art Project, under the theme of ‘Four Seasons’ has been put into place to enhance the environment within the Hospice for the patients, their families and visitors.
As part of this project, Marie Curie Cancer Care are looking to commission two pieces for the following areas (Please note allocated budget for each piece):

A sculpture for the front of the building. £45,000 (inc. VAT)

A piece for the double height atrium. £12,000 (inc. VAT)
Each piece should follow the theme of the 'Four Seasons.' These can be either a solitary piece or a series of up to 3 related or connected pieces.
Please note that no fee is payable at this ‘expression of interest’ stage. Short listed artists (maximum of 5) will receive a design fee which includes expenses of £800, deductable from the commission price.

Interviews for successful applicants to present their proposals will be held in the Solihull Hospice on the 26th and 27th January 2012.
