Mentee Artist in Residence, University of Leicester Sculpture in the Garden Exhibition

University of Leicester Sculpture in the Garden Exhibition 2014 are seeking to recruit a mentee artist to work in residence alongside the sculpture exhibition with Jacky Oliver the lead artist and emerging artist Nyssa Walster.

General details

The residency at the University of Leicester Botanic Garden includes supporting the artists with public tours and workshops and working with two special schools to create pieces for the Botanic Garden.

Mentee Artist Roles and Responsibilities

  • To support the lead artist and emerging artist with participatory workshops and tours of the sculpture exhibition
  • Support participants to take part in the workshops, particularly those with access needs.

Fee: £500 for 10 days. (4 days to support public workshops, 4 days to support workshops with school children, 2 days to spend time with lead artist / do own work)

  • Artist’s statement
  • 8 images of your works giving title, medium, size and date. (In a printable form please not just a website link.)
  • Artists must have, or be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check
