Public art commission for an artist to work with the students and staff to produce an external work that relates to the environment and weather that is so much a part of everyday life at the school.
Bradfield School has a unique rural location that takes advantage of proximity of the Peak District National Park and the cultural and economic opportunities of the city. The extent of the artwork is open at present. It may involve external elements that provide shelter and seating and respond to the environment, work that exploits the views to and from the school and possibly internal elements that provide information and interpretation.
The school will be completed at the end of May 2013. Installation dates for the artwork will depend on the nature of the work and how it interfaces with the landscape works. The total budget for the work is £15,500 (+ VAT if applicable).
The deadline for expressions of interest is 5.00 pm on Tuesday 22 November 2011.
