Redhills Public Art Commission – Expression of Interest

Deadline: November 28, 2014

Redhills BPttA Steering Committee is now inviting expressions of interest from artists or groups of artists for a public artwork to be sited at the top of the Village Green, Redhills as part of the Building Peace through the Arts: Re-imaging Communities programme.

Theme: ‘The Village Green’ - Redhill’s village green is quite unusual as this type of large central communal space is not a typical feature of Irish villages. The people of Redhills (both Catholic and Protestant) feel that the green represents a shared space and symbolises the improvements in community relations which have taken place in recent years.

The value of the commission is £25,000 (inclusive of VAT). This must also allow for all necessary design, treatment of surfaces, installation, erection and all fixings to secure the feature etc. There is no payment to artists submitting the initial Expression of Interest (Stage 1). Up to 3 artists will be selected to proceed to Stage 2 and to develop a full proposal with sketches and a maquette. £500 is available for each artist selected for Stage 2.

Artist should read the complete BPttA Redhills Artist Brief. this can be downloaded below.

All queries should be directed via email only to [email protected]

Completed Expressions of Interest should be sent to Redhills BPttA Committee, c/o Catriona O’Reilly, Arts Officer, Cavan County Council by the deadline Friday 28 November 2014 @ 4pm.
