Dandara is seeking to commission an artist to design and implement a site-specific artwork for a new building development in the Portlethen area, 7 miles south of Aberdeen.
Award winning property developer Dandara is creating a 40-acre business park, and the first phase of construction is now in progress. The developers are seeking to commission an artist to design and install a permanent artwork situated on a central roundabout as you enter the park, becoming a point of focus in the development. It will be important that the artwork has a connection to the North East environment, and that the proposal takes into consideration the proximity of the coast and weather erosion. The client is keen that the proposal should be monumental and forward looking, while a key consideration will be the limited footprint area and site lines for traffic.
