Stockton Town Centre – Street Furniture Design Commission
Stockton Borough Council has announced ambitious plans to improve Stockton Town Centre's offer and attractiveness to retail operators, shoppers and visitors alike. The town centre is the focus of development plans set to transform the High Street over the next 3 years. Stockton Borough Council aims to use artist led design where ever possible to explore how the historical cultural roots and contemporary vision of the Town can be woven into its physical fabric. These characteristics will help the Council attract people to the town, provide excuses for them to interact and encourage them to stay.
Stockton Borough Council is looking for an artist with strong design skills and relevant experience to develop street furniture designs for the new Town Centre public realm scheme. The Council are looking for someone with the vision to draw upon our town’s heritage and culture and make subtle references to it within the design of functional street furniture.
