Deadline: January 23, 2012, 5:00 pm

Union Street Commission

Artists are invited to submit proposals for a meaningful temporary art work and/or project to be situated in the public realm of Union Street environs, and to address the distinctive and complex environment of this key connective area within Bankside.

That environment is the built fabric as well as the cultural and social grain. The aim of the commission is to complement and reflect the recent and ongoing public realm improvement projects being delivered as part of the wider Bankside Urban Forest initiative.

Central to Bankside Urban Forest is recognising the value of working with existing organisations and spaces in the local area in order to develop more collaborative and inventive proposals for public spaces.

The brief will ask for proposals for a temporary work for the Union Street environs with a maximum value of £9,000 including fees, disbursement and VAT.

Deadline for submissions is 5pm: 23rd January 2012.

Better Bankside on behalf of the Bankside Urban Forest Partnership is the contracting authority for the commission.
