Date uploaded: December 16, 2013

The Marrakech Biennale is a festival with the mission to build bridges between the cultures through the arts. The Bienniale invites artists from all over the world to create work in dialogue with the environment of Marrakech.

The Marrakech Biennale is celebration of creativity in a city that has been the focus of artistic exploration for centuries. A gathering of arts enthusiasts who organise stimulating conferences, interactive events and world-class exhibitions.

Founded in 2004, The Marrakech Biennale are celebrating not only the arts, but also their 10th anniversary with the Biennale’s 5th edition.

Dates of the next Marrakech Biennale, 5th edition:
February 26th – March 31st, 2014

Opening Week: February 26th – March 2nd, 2014

Theme 2014: Where are we now?

The fifth edition of Marrakech Biennale asks ‚Where are we now?’ through a dialogue between four disciplines: visual arts, cinema and video, literature and performing arts. Marrakech is at a key moment in its history, standing at an exceptional crossroad. The aim is to gather local, regional and international audiences in order to stimulate cultural dialogues.

The node will be connected to ten selected parallel projects widening the elaboration of answers to this theme. As a participatory Biennale, fringe projects will pop up everywhere in the city during the time frame of the Marrakech Biennale.
