Digital agency Mando Group has launched the website artforplaces.com to support a new three-year public art project.
Art for Places promises to be an "inspirational project" that will help communities use public art to improve the quality of life in their neighbourhoods. It will see public art commissioned in Sefton, Wirral and Liverpool.
Mando Group, which is based in Liverpool, has created a "user-friendly" website intended to encourage community participation and mailing list sign-ups. It supports the Arts for Places branding and includes Web 2.0 features, Flickr galleries and Google Search.
The agency's CEO, Matt Johnson, said: “We’re delighted to be involved with such a worthwhile initiative and with the resulting site. The Liverpool region has much to offer its residents and we’re proud to be helping it build on those assets to ensure future success.”
Art for Places is a partnership between NewHeartlands (Housing Market Renewal pathfinder for Merseyside), Liverpool Biennial and Arts Council England, along with local authorities and housing associations.
