Date uploaded: July 23, 2014
The Arts Council England have plans to invest strategic funds in a programme that will create a step-change in the scale, quality and sustainability of Outdoor Arts in England. It is proposed that this funding will support large-scale commissions aimed at international touring, smaller innovation commissions to encourage cross-artform work including digital, and invest in a skills programme for producers and production managers.
Arts Council England will work with higher education institutions and media partners to highlight quality practice in this work and will ensure that this fund makes a significant impact outside of London by establishing appropriate criteria and will allocate £6 million to this fund for 2015-18.
Additional priority areas announced included Developing Ambition and Talent outside of London; Exceptional Awards, to allow Arts Companies to respond to one-off opportunities; Diversity; Hull, City of Culture, 2017; and Cultural Export and Exchange.
