Piercing Brightness in cinemas from 7th June

Piercing Brightness will be released by Soda Film + Art in cinemas and art spaces across the UK on 7th June. It is the debut feature film directed by acclaimed visual artist Shezad Dawood, scripted by cult novelist Kirk Lake with an original score by Makoto Kawabata of Acid Mothers Temple (Japan) and featuring music by Alexander Tucker. Piercing Brightness has been commissioned by In Certain Places as part of their programme, which examines the role of artists in the city.

Commissioned by In Certain Places in association with Modern Art Oxford, Outset Contemporary Art Fund, Abandon Normal Devices Festival, Harris Museum & Art Gallery and Preston Guild 2012.

Funded by Harris Museum & Art Gallery, National Lottery through Arts Council England, Preston City Council, Preston Guild 2012, Outset Contemporary Art Fund, London 2012 Festival and Cultural Olympiad using funds from the National Lottery, Lancashire County Council, University of Central Lancashire, Abandon Normal Devices Festival.
