Pavilion Presents a Double Screening: River and Sea
Date uploaded: April 2, 2015
Pavilion presents a two-part screening of films that use different strategies to reflect upon the industrial and poetic potential of river and sea.
'The Forgotten Space' is a film essay by Allan Sekula and Noël Burch which approaches the sea as a crucial site within capitalism’s global supply chain and looks at the wide-reaching effects of international cargo shipping.
In 'Study of a River and Time and Tide', experimental filmmaker and former merchant marine Peter Hutton turns his contemplative eye to the landscape and industry on and around the Hudson River.
The films are presented as a way of circulating ideas and materials emerging from Pavilion’s in progress commission with artist Grace Schwindt.
The event takes place on Sunday the 12th of April 2015, from 2.20pm at Hyde Park Picture House. Tickets can be bought in advance or on the door from the cinema box office at the standard admission prices.
Hyde Park Picture House, 73, Brudenell Road, LS6 1JD.
